125” engine baffling.

Embarrassed but never have done this before. Is this a sufficient baffle for the engine?

Those baffles need to be angled the opposite way, the cowl side goes under the lip on the cowl, the engine side you want to direct the air flow towards the bottom side of the cylinder so the air flows around the cylinder head.

You need to box in the baffle. You want to force the air thru the culinders.

I can get you better pics of this, if you wish.

A DA 170 has less fin area than a 150, so it tends to run hot. On my 170s in the past, I have tried just baffle pointing to just the front of the fins. Similar to how you have it now. But more focus on the lower section of the baffle. But when I flew it with on board temp sensors on the back side of the head at the upper most fin, the temps easily reached close to 400F. To hot for me to be comfortable with. So I baffle plate the whole lower cowl now. Similar to what you see with 4 cyl engines. Doing that I hardly ever seen temps above 300F on the back side of the cyl.
