107" Sbach

I see Yaks, Extras, Lasers and Slicks at comps, but no Sbachs. Is this model not well suited to IMAC?

Great Question, I have one my self , Going though a build soon.

My Guess would be wing area/ Wing chord, Its a floater in the air and maybe not no so desirable for IMAC? But that just my guess.

I had one for the very reason that you didn’t see a lot of them around. Definitely flies differently, but once you get used to it should be fine for IMAC.

In Sweden we have flown them in all classes from basic to advanced for several yeaars. But they are not so popular anymore. I had one myself with ZDZ90 on RE3 pipe, weight total 24.7 pounds. It was a rocket. I think it flew well in Intermediate. //Mikael

The original 1:1 Sbach is not a good plane for aerobatics... it's plenty of flying vices (ask Francesco Fornabaio; italian pilot).
Making a good IMAC plane with that plane, would require enough modifications that easily will set it out of 10% scale.

What type of modifications?

Still awaiting the SBach to come into stock. I have been looking at the Pilot Extra 330LX instead. However, the large flying surfaces seem to indicate it's designed more for 3D than IMAC.

The Pilot Extra 330LX can't possibly meet any 10% scale guidelines! I used to like the scale of Pilot Extras, but this most recent thing looks like a "Fun-Scale" plane with the ridiculously over-exaggerated rudder, and stabs mounted so low, they look "almost under" the tail of fuselage!

And what would you suggest?
