I had an opportunity this week to chat with Jonny D Falgout, President of Aeromodelers of Acadiana, about their upcoming event that we’ll be attending following the shootout. Here’s all the info you’ll need directly from Jonny to come join us!
We are ready for our 2nd Annual Extreme Flight Cajun HuckFest! Put the brand wars aside, if you fly 3D airplanes, you need to come check out our event!
While professionals like Jase Dussia will be here, this event is for all skill levels of 3D Pilots! Don’t feel like you have to be an awesome 3Der to fly! We all started at the same level...feel welcome to come.
Dates: October 17,18,19th
Field Location:

Field Specs:
- Runway is manicured like golf course Smooooooth grass 1000ft x 100ft
- Fly over area is a few hundred acres
- First tree to hit is over 2,000ft away lol
- Plenty of parking
- 100ft wide covered pavilion on a concrete slab with 19 work tables, each with their own 20amp electrical outlets
Field Amenities:
Camping on site is welcome. No hook-ups just yet but as I type this, we have 8 camper electrical hookups being installed. Can’t promise it will be done before the event, but we are trying. As soon as I know they are available, we will take reservations on them. Very clean Porta Potties on Site. We are only 4.7 miles from a major interstate exit with everything a person could want.
Off site Lodging:
For anyone not able to sleep at the field, there are a few hotels in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. There is also a full blown RV Camping Park 1/2 mile behind the club. You could ride a golf cart to here with a beer pretty easy. We’re out in the country, so thats ok. They have hundreds of full hook up slots all on a lake.

Our meals this year are:
Thursday Night- Authentic Cajun Gumbo. This isn’t spicy, but a rich flavorful chicken & sausage (stew basically for the out of state friends)
Friday Night- Fried Seafood!
Saturday Night- Really really good BBQ, Slow-cooked 14hr, mouth-watering, tender, Brisket & Pulled Pork with sides.
Come hang out with us, enjoy some great food, southern hospitality, and one of Louisiana’s finest flying sites!

Field prep for this years Huckfest was started a month after last years event ended. As of today our Airfield is in pristine condition. Drainage and Parking has been expanded and we can hold roughly 70+ pilots parking with direct access to the runway. This year is going to be a blast! I will be at the field starting Sat 10-12-19 flying and helping with field prep. every day. Early arrivals are welcome!
