DLE 170 ignition voltage, my power box spark switch output voltage is 5.8 The engine will not start if I take the power box switch out and run track voltage at 7.4 engine starts up fine and runs my question is should I replace the ignition box ? the engine is new , or should I get a spark switch that the output is 7.4?

check to see what the voltage to your ignition is some of them work best at 6 volts

My 170 runs just fine using a TA IBEC at 5.1v. Same with my other DLEs.

Most newer DLE ignitions work with a voltage range of 4.8V to 14V,
I run mine at 7.4V using the TA Ibec High Voltage, Less money than a new ignition that will probably have the same voltage need!
I had a similar problem starting my GP123 with a standard Ibec, replaced it with the Ibec High Voltage and resolved the problem.
