Piper Cubs 3D-ing
Heres a clip of a video i stumbled upon on another thread sorry for the repost...but i just had to start a new thread on the subject matter.
First, this pilot is a stud, as are all who have the skills to 3d a high winger!
Second, two of my friends built Balsa USA Cub Kits this past year, one 1/4 scale and one 1/3 scale. I do believe i will be witnessing some cubs at our field 3-Ding this year, cant wait! I guess I was thinking that it would be cool to have a 3d Cub Flying Gallery Thread with setup essentials, radio tweaks, and flying tips for those who are getting into this unusual and perverse art form. Please post Pics if you got 'em and video is always good too! |

this BUSA 1/3 cub Built and flown my Mr. Dave Boldt is a real nice piece of work. [A year or two worth of cigarettes and beer] as he would say. Great guy. anyhow it is covered in koverall and doped. tough stuff! Spouts a 3w 80 twin i believe - if memory serves me. Pics took at his annual funfly which is always a blast to attend. ive seen this thing hover and do knife edge loops. sure is a sight!

My goal was to put in a jc30evo but it wouldn't fit so I put the jc23evo in it. The 23cc pulls the 1/4 cub with authority ! I will post a video if we ever get a decent day to fly. |

Should have some pics of mine come spring. I will hover it. The DLE30 has plenty of power.

It may not, but I will find out lol. I only got 2 flights on this setup and they were very short flights because of time constraint. I am hoping this weekend to test its hover or at least tail slide capabilities.
