The eye in the sky was always comfort to me. Nothing like knowing whats around the corner and getting a jump on your enemy.

I have heard "Battle Folklore" that guys in the field could sleep better with a Predator overhead 'cuz it could see approaching bad guys better than a sentry due to the infrared.... even a fox couldn't sneak up on'em as they slept!!!

I don't know 'bout yuh'all... but a good nite sleep makes a whole big difference for me!!

UAV's in a war zone are great, but they seem to be used more and more for other missions including ones over our own country and assassinations of suspected terrorists in countries that are friendly to us.

other than venturing into areas deemed too dangerous for a manned aircraft, Drones aren't doing anything not already being done by manned aircraft.... including domestic activities...

they primarily have the advantage of endurance and the ability to perform a mission with multiple shifts..
