“Sukhoi’z Twins

Finished the build, onto loading it up, but I didn’t post any pics till today 4-3-2020, because I didn’t want anyone to beat me to it!! A friend of mine Brian sent me a pic of the “Twin Yak” and said , “dude, you should build this” 2 weeks later I bought this plane and the brain went nuts!! So here we go!!!

40% Hanger-9 Sukhoi doubled up..I call it “Sukhoi’z Twins”

I built the center sections added 3 more tubes 2 in the back, one main wing tube. Built my own carbon fiber receiver wing tube in the main center section..

There is a mount for a turbine engine, and exhaust tube , so when the funds get a bit better and we can all get back to work, I will be adding it!!

It will be powered by 2 DLE111’s and guided by JETI..

I really enjoy the custom builds.. this is my 4th, and its more fun every time I do it!!

I think I am the first crazy man to build one of these, thats why I put a date on it!! You guys AND gals,, have a great day!!!

Finished 4-3-2020.....

Very Cool! I think you got one of your DLE 111's from a flying buddy of mine.

I have built a few of the H9 3.1M Sukhoi's and the gear flex on the stock aluminum is pretty significant. Watch out for the 2 inner wheels and pants banging together on even a soft landing. Just a note.

Good luck!

Please consider putting a pipe or protectant on the center section. Don't ask me how I know. We built one as my brother is the owner and operator of the Full Scale with Dell Coller and the Fat Tire Cowboys for ICAS as a Static Display and Proof of concept. I had a very lengthy discussion with AMA regarding the need for brakes to suffice the turbine requirement. Please consider that a necessity directly from the top at AMA even though the turbine is a supplemental power source. I fly corporate out of Carson City, so if I can be of assistance, please ask.

There needs to be more dreaming going on to make this all fun. Great job. It looks easy to make this happen, but start running ESCs, ECUs, Electronic Ignitions, Smoke systems, and the like. Watch for significant noise and do some insane range tests. Lots of satellites. The design is super super strong. Enjoy, it will be a very straight flying fun airplane.
