Hey guys, just an update on the update.

The FlyingGiants techs have been hard at work in an effort to update FG’s forum software! We looked at requests from FlyingGiants members and decided the best thing to do would be to apply all our custom RCGroups forum enhancements to the FlyingGiants forum. This will add a lot of new features and bug fixes that FG has needed for some time.

None of your content will be lost and none of your thread subscriptions will be modified.

Here are a few of the new features you can expect:

• Updated Front Page - easier to read and navigate
• Classifieds - many new and improved features
• Enhanced Attachment Uploader - an easier way to upload files
• Additional Attachment File Types - more than 20 files types
• Multiple Uploads from iOS Devices - upload from the field
• Updated Blog Abilities - moderate your own blog
• Calendar - the layout has been updated

If you run into any issues or problems please post them in the Site Suggestions/Complaints section! You can also use this thread for that.

Our techs are repopulating the new classifieds with all the old posts. I got a confirmation that this is currently happening.

We are making a list noting your suggestions and complaints.
Matt will make a post soon with this running list.

I like the new features. Makes it easier to upload.


I feel the top is too dark. If anything keep it the same blue as was before up top and make a bigger banner like before with the photos.


Unsure what happened with the signatures. :/

Now I can see recent posts because of the bigger letters. Blue is easier on the eyes. It is better but as usual new things are hard to accept at first. Wish guys were nicer with their critiques. Too many SA's now days.

We made the text larger and darker just for that reason. We will be tweaking on everything for the next few days.

This new version is also very mobile friendly for you guys surfing from your phones.

From your control panel then settings & options then select “Edit Options” scroll down to miles vs. Kilo

I'm ok with most of it but putting classifieds in with the recent posts totally ruins the recent posts feature that I liked so much about FG. Please separate the classifieds from the forums

Right now....most of the "Recent Posts" are classified ads....it's clouding out the main content.....Please make it a priority to change this!

I totally agree. One of our techs is currently populating the new classifieds so that is why it's covering up the Recent Posts side bar. We started the switch at 11PM CST last night and have been working through the night to make the switch as seamless as possible be we definitely have things we need to keep updating and tweaking. We appreciate everyone's patience.

Love the mobile picture uploader... I'm a mobile user and that was super easy and uploaded quick!

Forgot about Forum Spy feature. I believe FG had this before. Nice feature. Do like the front page besides the Classifieds in recent post.
