For the guys that have received their Stinson how about some pics. I would love to see what this bird looks like coming out of the box. Also interested on your first impression on the quality of the airframe and the covering. Thanks.

I’m a dummy!

Got to see Tommy Jacomini’s Stinson today..... Really nice looking and good quality airframe. Unfortunately I wasn’t thinking about taking pictures of his build so far but take my word for it...... Y’all would really like the quality of the build so far! I think it’s gonna be a winner!

Build on!

I think Tommy’s only concern at this point was where the leg fairing meets the fuse fairing.... his idea will be to make some sort of jig to hold these parts about an 1/8” apart and put white GE silicone between the two. When the silicone cures it will be flexible at the joint..... First hard landing and the two parts would be full of stress cracks!

Mine is still wrapped up. I will post build pics when I get started. Finishing up a couple things before I start this. Rcgf 35 side exhaust with a pitts muffler will be my motor for this one. Packaging was first rate. Double boxed. Internal seperate boxes for cowl, components, etc. wing tube and spars tapped to inside of box. All airframe components bubble wrapped and tapped in place. Nicely done in my opinion.

Waitng for graphics to arrive for final assy and detail.

Phoenix produces some extremely nice models. This one , the Stinson, however somewhat smaller, should turn out just as nice as my Phoenix Waco, and fly just as nice, I will post photos as I complete the assy. My Waco can be seen over in the Waco thread.

The spinner pictured.

The spinner pictured is a TopFlite AT-6 2.5" , I will be using a TruTurn 3.25" AT-6.

Is the cockpit detail your addition or from the kit?

I'm building one now! I'm putting a DLE 40 twin in mine. Phoenix Models knocked this one out of the park!

Getting closer to my maiden !
The FG40 mounts cleanly and looks great!
16 ounce tank should be more than enough!
