Missing some events?

Look's like the SE Region eliminated some contest from the schedule this year?

Piedmont, Wade, NC
Mocksville, N/C Fall Classic
Dalzell, SC
Spotsylvania, VA
Andersonville, GA
Roberta, GA

Sooooooooo much for flying IMAC this year. I was excited to fly this year... Ohh well, three's better than none! Time to move to Florida or re draw the regional lines......................., and make it smaller! Look at the NSRCA Dist. 2 Area, makes more sense...........

Contests seem to be shrinking in out of state attendance. I agree that redrawing the regions to make them smaller would really help. Too bad that would require change, something most of the IMAC BOD doesn't want to do.....

Yep

Less drive time, less travel expense, more money in you're pocket and the potential for more contests in a condensed area, nothing says you can't fly out of Dist/region, as long as you get points right?

The way it's looked at for an example: Florida is 600 miles for me (one way) and vise-versa for those in Florida. Most of us will not make that trip 3-4 times in a summer, so they figure the points work themselves out. The exception is for those guy's that know they need extra points over a fellow competitior, that can't travel those distances. They do so, just for the advantage of potentially winning the class. It's not always the best pilots that claim the title, but those with a better attendance record.

Another example; The IMAC 2014 WC selections were based on Regional points, if I remember correctly? There is an advantage to be had for those who can make consistently long contest hauls over those who can't.

Alway's NATS, LOL................

Change is difficult......, upsets the apple cart and hurts peoples feeling....

still only January.

There are contests in the works that just aren't on the calendar yet.

There is a thread on the IMAC site here with info and proposed contests:
http://www.mini-iac.com/Forums/tabid...c/Default.aspx

Based on your location there is a judging school in Welcome, NC that would be a great option to attend. Info here:

http://www.mini-iac.com/Home/Control...3/default.aspx

Also, sometimes things change.. a field, the CD, etc...
If interested IMAC is always open to new folks stepping up to run a contest. It isn't too hard and you will get plenty of support.

Bills post inspired me to create a new thread: https://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/...d.php?t=111466

I would appreciate anyone's input on the subject.

I know it is getting late in the season but what events are there for the rest of the year in Alabama, Georgia, N. Florida, maybe Mississippi and Tennessee? What ever became of Andersonville? Anything in Atlanta?
