RedWing Edge Profile New Version

Just received my Redwing Profile Edge the new version. Pictures don't even come close to actually the size of this bird. It is huge. Packed very nice and I am really impressed with the covering quality and build quality. This profile should really fly well with its huge wings and thick airfoil. I cant believe a profile with only a 65" wing span can look so huge. WOW . I ordered it Wed and received it here in Iowa today 1100am.

You going to do a build thread? I about to push the order button for the Edge combo. Did you go with the combo? Any pic's you want to post? Thanks!

No build thread to busy being retired to do that. You can save a little doing the engine and servo combo but I get my extensions and batts from other places. I only use A123 batts and not the flat Life batteries. They can go bad after only a few years of service. I have some A123 batts from WrongWayrc that are going on 8 years old and still showing a good capacity.

Servo Arms?

Does anyone know what size servo arms are needed for all the control surfaces on the RedWing 20cc Profile. I looked the manual but didn't see any reference of what size servo arms. Thanks!

ETA back in stock?

Anyone have an ETA when these will be back in stock? I sent an email to Red Wing requesting an ETA on the 20cc Red Pofile Edge 540 but haven't received a reply yet. How fast is Red Wing in replying to emails? Thanks!

I ended up replacing the stock 2" wing bolts which I felt were a little short and used 1/4-20 blind nuts and put sealant on the blind nuts before mounting them. Found some 3" 1/4-20 plastic bolts I had laying around. Now I feel like it will be a lot more secure .

Ok sounds good . Mine is just about done. Only bad thing about these profiles is where to put Batt and Reciever and all the other wiring. Once you get it figured out it is pretty easy. Just have a few minor things left to do on mine.

Sounds good. Once you get everything sorted out where everything is going to go, post it in the thread. Some said they had to use a Rx & ignition battery pack to get the CG right. I'm planning on using just one 2300 A123 pack and a tech aero IBEC.

That is exactly my set up 1 2300 A123 and Tech-Aero I use the IBec in all my gassers . I will let you know how mine balances out. I am using a Alum. spinner and I put 4 inch tires on mine . I should be checking the balance within the next few days. I put my batt inside one of wing panels and my receive is mounted with Velcro on the hatch plate. My IBEC is mounted on the front hatch plate.Fits there really nice . I think this bird will be a blast to fly once I get it it in the air. Just waiting for this crap weather in Iowa to get good. Had 40 and 50 mph winds and cold temps since about 3 weeks ago.
