These 4 are my favorite so far. The Pitts 12 looks fantastic but WAY to hard for me to paint. This will be my first time painting a plane. Straight lines will be my friend! :-)

I'm hoping less than 2 years. I bought the project just over a year ago. It was a factory built quick build kit. Wing were completed with controls installed. Fuselage welded at the factory. Tail surfaces from the factory. Included pretty much everything I needed to finish except engine and prop. I picked up an engine for it this spring. I was hoping to have made more progress by now, but unfortunately I've run into quite a few QC issues with the kit that has delayed my progress. Several issues with the fuselage structure and several issues with wing fittings. I've got most of those taken care of now. Starting to make more progress. WIngs are hung, just in the process of rigging. Tail surfaces installed, torque tube, rudder, etc.. Looks like a plane but still a ton of work to do.

This is awesome, The Ultimate model hahah and i thought building a 40% Pitts challenger or Uliti was a lot of work.........i was very wrong hahah.

Shame the Quick build Kit was not so quick and has presented some issue But glade your getting them sorted and should be a great plane when done.

Keep us updated really cool project, More picture etc.

Here's a few pictures. First few are when I picked the kit up. The metal leading edges have all been pulled off and I've fabricated new plywood leading edges, using 2 sheets of .8mm Finnish birch laminated together then bent around a mold. Just finished drilling the lower left wing spar bolt holes this morning, have the incidence levels all set on the upper and lower wing. Now time to get the wires on make sure they all fit..

After spending many months fixing up the factory mistakes I'm finally making forward progress. Horizontal Stabs and Elevators are covered. Wings are rigged. Taking it all apart now and covering everything. Working on the fuel system, canopy, etc now.

Tail surfaces are all covered and UV blocker/filler applied. Half the ailerons are covered as well. Progressing nicely now.
