I am at a loss to understand why all engines don't have round exhaust ports, especially since I have never seen square tube headers. But I suppose adapters could be made out of aluminum...

I know you see 150's for 500.00 with fresh rebuild from DA.That's 200.00 less than you can buy a used DA70.

True, but the newer designs are round (35, 60, 70, 120, 170).

DJ144 is designed for 104-110inh 3D (110cc-120cc Class Air plane)
Weight:
GP123=5.07lbs (2.3 kilos)
DLE120=5.34 lbs (2.42 kilos )
DJ144= 5.53lbs (2.51 kilos)

DA150=7.96 lbs (3.61 kilos)
NEW DA150L=7.33lbs (3.33 kilos)

So DA150/DA150L is not suitable for 120 cc 3D aircraft.

It looks really good, and it seems that the correct choices have been made in regards to bearings etc. But after buying a Mintor 38 (which is almost a pejorative term for “bad engine”) and seeing a certain brand of 40cc twin literally frag a crankshaft, twice, I’m reluctant to spend $750 (plus the cost of an airframe) to be a beta tester.

if it's any consolation I have had a DJ 72 v1 for 18 months it has been a very powerful and dependable engine with excellent idle and extremely good transition off of idle very powerful for a 72 cc engine

Well I am going to have to check this out! I have the DJ 72, v2 and have had good results with it. It seems to get better the more I use it. I have liked how it pulls on the lower end and has good transition. I did some opening box videos of it. If the DJ144 uses the same cylinders, this should be a good engine value for the 120cc planes... cool DJ!

So any experiences with the 144? Looking at one of these for a future plane.
