Here are the rules;
9.3.
A contestant in Basic through Advanced classes will be required to move
to the next higher class at the beginning of the next calendar year if the
contestant wins five (5) or more contests in the current year provided that
in each winning contest the contestant flew against at least four (4) other
competitors who made official flights. If any of the contestant's winning
contests had fewer than four (4) other competitors that made official
flights, that contest will not be counted in the total of winning contests
used to force advancement in class.
So from what I see Rick King will not be forced to move up next year.

It's Rick's choice to move up or not. If you're flying Sportsman I'd say it's time to burn more gas and step up your game.

Thanks Micheal and Clark and Gordon to clarify this.

MOVE UP!!! I would like someone to fly against, I gets lonely here all by myself, and they should put a new rule in that states: If a pilot wins the region by flying against fewer than 2 pilots for any given event, then he has the right to move down to a lower class for competitive reasons, but must return to the original class the following year.

You better get signed up for the Finals then, better not let the chance to fly with a couple other pilots pass you by. Bring the bipe!!

Slats!

Also known as the Sandbagging clause. It is well used in Calgary over the years.

Ahh, just show up and fly something, it will be good to see three of you all in Intermediate. Or are you afraid that Ron or Jim might get the best of you?

Well its the bottom of the ninth inning and only 30.4 separate first Gordon, from second Clark in Advance class . Who will take home the championship title for 2019 Imac NW region .

I'm going with the Home team Gordon

Novice Class will be offer for this contest;

This class is specifically for pilots who would like to try IMAC in a stress free non-competitive environment. Novice class will fly on Saturday only. Aircraft DOES NOT need to be a scale aerobatic aircraft. Pilots will fly the 2019 Basic sequence along with the Basic class and will be judged and scored by IMAC certified judges. Pilot will receive tips, techniques and feedback; this is a fantastic way to be involve on what precision aerobatics is all about without the competition aspect of the contest. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED, (Disclaimer) there is no antidote for the IMAC bite.

SIMPLY ART IN THE SKY!

Oh Rusty, young grasshopper.....I honestly don't see either myself or Gordon moving up. 9.3 rule doesn't apply to either of us and the unknowns aren't natural and still intimidating.

Yes, Advanced will be decided at this contest. I might get a chance to fly by then, I hope.
