I was going to leave my cowl whole but after talking with Andrew and Joe I decided to add the cutouts. Other 105 owners with similar setups have done the same.

Anyone put an Electric Power System on this, yet? Would the Q80-6L on 12S be good power? I saw Greg Marsden put that on a similar size plane.

That power system would be more suited for the 93". I'm not aware of anyone currently running the 105" on electric power.

I have a dozen flights on it now, with a 26x12 it has plenty of power, for mid class IMAC, not Unlimited.

Picked one of these up on a whim at Joe Nall. I've got everything done before leaving to go offshore except for motor install/cg since the motor had to go to arizona for a check up. The motor should be waiting on me when I get back home in a few weeks but I'm super stoked to get this thing in the air after seeing a few at Nall and definitely after watching some of the XFC videos. Just wish the next 2 weeks would hurry up and fly by

I'm thinking very seriously of powering the 105" Laser with a DA 70 for IMAC. This would be a great Retro concept when 40% planes were flown with 120 size motors. The 93" Laser I have is very light and if the 105" is likewise, I'm almost all in.

I'd be interested to see how this turns out, but I can't imagine it would fare so well. My 105 with a DA120 is strictly used for IMAC and I would not want any less power for my up-line manuvers. I'd also worry about balance with so much less nose weight up front.

I have the 105" and love this plane. Chris Hass and Dean Lampron both did a great job with them at the XFC.

Chris Hass Final Smackdown XFC 2016 (4 min 8 sec)

Dean Lampron Final Smackdown XFC 2016 (3 min 53 sec)

I don't think that will be enough engine. Mine with a DA120 and cans is 29lbs. No extra weight at all. Basic setup.

Here's a similar set-up with a DA-70 twin on a 3DHS 103" Extra
DA 70 twin on Plane Bender 35cc Smooth Pipes (9 min 24 sec)

Looking for some info this aircraft:

AUW with DA OR GP123 with stock mufflers?
Wing Area

The roll rate on this aircraft looks amazing as seen in some of the XFC vids.
