Having instant torque, better Downline braking are all great, I'd love to put on larger props on my 120 cc airframes and not lose on transition.
Fn right !

Any further details on the DLE130? I did a google search the other day, and found some early-summer FB posts from overseas, but nothing regarding DLE in the US or any real details on the 130..

I know, except for some FB posts it has been quiet. I did see some bore and stroke stuff, and it seems that they kept the bore the same and added 1.5mm stroke.

Hmmm, that should be good for swinging a bigger prop

Im thinking a 29x9 might be a good starting point.

I had a Falcon 29x9 on my GP 123, gobs of thrust but was loud and ripped easily. I run a Falcon 28x9w much quieter and I cannot tell any difference in thrust. Anyone run the 144 to see how quick the off idle acceleration is, to me that is more important than the top RPM number. My GP 123 revs quicker than my DA 120 which is no slouch. I am running the 28x9w on both engines.

Thats because a larger diameter prop takes less RPM to mame the tips go supersonic. Smaller diameter takes more RPM to go sonic.

Maiden-ed my DJ144 and Sky Wing Slick 360 104 Today, Engine started very easy, great compression. Using Falcon 28x 10 prop, this motors revs quick with the big bore carb. Going to try a Falcon wood 28 x12 next time out , ran 4 tanks thru. Bill called the Bowman rings guy and gave him all the measurements he needed to make rings. This engine will be a powerhouse when broken in.

It mite be the carb, the DJ72 always had amazing throttle response I thought. One of the engines better traits.I always thought that Bjorn needed the piston and cylinder to make a ring.I needed to send Frank the cylinder and piston for the DJ72,if I remember rite,it's been a while back.
SkyWing builds a nice looking plane, the 28-10 prop is that a common size for a 120 or this size of engine.

Bjorn

Bill Duarte was on the phone with him yesterday. We pulled a cylinder off my 144 the rings are very hard material but the rings are tight and compression good for a new engine.
Bill is a ex-machinist and gave him pictures and measurements over the phone, so Bowman rings will be available for the DJ 144 soon.

Prop

28 x 10 is a common prop for the DLE 120 or GP123 , so that is where we started with the Falcon carbon prop. But with the big bore and almost instant spin up on the engine ( makes it very easy in the hover) going to add a little pitch to the prop Falcon 28 x 12
