Giant Scale Power Trains

I am thinking of buying one of these:-
http://www.pilot-rc.com/acrobatic/ex...tra-330lx-103/

I am considering electrifying this model and to those of you who have done am100cc equivalent adaptation I would ask if you would give me an idea of your power train set ups ie: motor, ESC, power supply and layout and the like. I know some of you folks think this is cost prohibitive purely from a lipo stand point and I accept these views, but I want to opinions from those of you who have accomplished this conversion. Thanks.

Lol Yes i thought the same.

Electric is nice, But the 5-7 Minute flight time is a down site and the the requirement for charging packs on site at high amp rates to get back in the air quick, can be hard depending if you have on site power or not. Plus needs a few batteries on hand, Put some thought in to how you will change at the flying field..

Cost wise it will be the same as a 120cc Gas Dle if not more.

Thats said you pretty great linear throttle and instant power, But i feel after 50cc size models, gas is more convenient and practical.

Yeah I know about the cons in the pros & cons argument I am just interested in hearing how the successful guys have done it. I am happy with 5-7 minute duration flights by the way.

Talk to Aeroplayin. He’s been exploring the 100cc+ area in electric. His StinGR gear reduction unit looks really great.
