This just in from the fine folks at Triple Tree!

NALL in the FALL Welcome

On behalf of Mr. Pat, the Board, and Volunteers we are excited to have all our friends back to enjoy the magic that is Triple Tree !!

We’d like to invite everyone back to enjoy our 2nd annual “Nall in the Fall” event Sept. 27th – Oct. 5th .

Here is a link to last year's FG event coverage.

This is a great way to take the classic Joe Nall Week event of the spring and stretch the fun to the end of the flying season. The same number of flight lines, open camping, dawn-to-dark fellowship, and fun.

Some highlights that you can look forward to:

  • See the progress of our 85% cub project
  • Opportunities to see demos from some of the best RC pilots in the world.
  • Noon Demos at the Main Line
  • 3 pm Demos at the Electric Line
  • Nightly Demos at 3-D Line
  • Enjoy the new Electric model runway
  • Of course, the World-renowned Triple Tree Dinners!

With your continued support, we can grow all the programs and events and keep Triple Tree financially sustainable for years to come.

Thanks again, we will do everything possible to ensure a great event for the 2019 “Nall in the Fall”!

Last year there were very few vendors, but it was announced as a full event sort of late and many vendors had already spent their annual event budget in the spring. This year should be better.

I know Extreme Flight is planning to go I keep checking the TripleTree site to see if they post a vendor list, but so far no one is listed there. Hoping they get good response this year.

First Year

We will be attending our first Nall in the Fall event this year. We have been told many times that we should make this event. We are currently packing the trailer up and will be there Sept. 25 and staying through Oct. 5.

See you all soon
Charlie

They just uploaded the list of vendors, there is 18 currently. Most are showing up on the 27th and the rest by the 30th. We will be one of the first ones there on the 25th. This being our first year attending we are taking it all in.

My opinion of Fall Nall 2019
- drop the name Fall Nall. They are trying to ride on the shirt tail of a great event ,,,, the Joe Nall. Let it go! People are getting confused and calling it the joe Nall event. Only 500 pilots attended the event. Last year over 609. Let the Joe Nall be the premier event and call this the eWeek or fall flyin or something. But it’s nothing like the Joe Nall
- the event was so poorly attended they stopped running the buses the second day and started using golf carts as transportation
- it was so hot (averaged 96 most days) that most pilots chose shade rather than flying. From about 11:30-4:00 no one hardly flew on the classic or 3D line. The electric line stayed active almost everyday
- the “world famous BBQ” was a joke. Nothing like the Joe Nall event at all. I think less than 200 tickets actually got used. No shrimp, no baked chicken. You basically paid $25 for a $5 meal. The band was fine and played a lot of 60’s 70’s music
- only 9 vendors on vendors row and no show specials for the most part. Vendor row looked like a ghost town. I would be surprised if any of them will be back next year. Pilots were busy finding shade and comfort from the heat
- Triple Tree staff were wonderful as usual. Very friendly and helpful with any need that arose
- Still need bath house at electric line. Could have spent funds on a gazebo and bathrooms there rather than that big green metal building that serves no real purpose for the RC events. Great place for motion RC to set up but that was about it
- bath house at the hanger really needs some attention. Almost all the toilets are loose from the supports, many of the shower stalls have broken off valves to turn on/off the cold or hot water lines. Shower heads sensors are useless.
- people are cheating the system for staging canopies at the Friday opening time. What should happen is first come during the week get first dips on staking claim to location on flight line. What actually happens is people get their golf carts and pack them full of pop ups. Strategically locate on the premises so that when the horn sounds off to allow you to proceed down in the order you arrived you will find many golf carts racing down the hill to grab up those premium runway spots! This is so wrong guys and needs to be stopped!!!! Some of these people show up Tuesday and Wednesday just so they can get in line only to be out done by someone who shows up Friday at noon and packs 4 canopies on their golf cart and go hide by vendor row until the horn blows then race over to the gazebo and stake out their premier pilot space next to the white fence!!
- communication about events at the event are still poor. No forums, no blogs, no information alert system that keeps pilots informed. So much good could come from this but absolutely nothing in place.
- $13 for a hamburger and drink from the food tent is over priced!!! No reason for that and I hope they got the message this year!!! Most days I only saw about 20 people or less take advantage of that. Flys on all the food all the time and poor attention to protecting the condiments as well. So many better ways of doing this.

I enjoyed being with friends and blessed to be at TTA again but will not make plans to attend next year fall event. I will of course attend the real Nall event year.......The Joe Nall 2020!!!
