Yup that will work. If you run can fuel with no ethonal then you dont need it but if you do use pump fuel its a great idea.

I wouldn't be too quick to jump on board the "like" bandwagon until it is proven what effects "G" forces have on it. Remember trimmers and chainsaws don't have to fly. I replace so few diaphragms in my carbs I'll be waiting to see how it works out for others before buying one. For me, traditional diaphragms work well and they are cheap to replace when necessary.

Probably like you said the diaphragms aren't the problem as much as the flapper vales on the other side of carb.Every time I had trouble it was a rubber base flapper valve that was curled up and not sealing.The nylon ones that are in the kits seemed to last longer than the rubber.The guy at the mower shop said he likes the rubber vales better for sealing.

Yeah...it hasn't been has it....I stepped back a bit after your g force point. I can see where on the ground they appear awesome but in the air ???....I guess that's a wait and see thing ....

I kinda expected this thread to take off like an oil thread.

I a little confused about the clear plastic membrane that sits on top of the metal coil. What happens when that gets hard and brittle?

It would have less issues with g force than the regular diaphragm because it weighs less
We will have to see what effect ethanol has on the new membrane

I fixed all the carb issues with one thing: Can fuel!
Deffinitly more expansive at $65-80 for 5 gal. But dont need to worry about any of the BS plus carb settings stay true and less chances of going lean and burning cylinders up.
After spending Soooo many years ckeaning and rebuilding carbs for customers I dont want to do my own. I hate Ethonal with a strong Passion! Lol

Well Ethonal may be coming to a end.The government says they are going to quit propping up the Ethanol companies and let them stand on their own.Farmers won't like it but we will have fuel with less problems and carbs.

Without the clear plastic this "idea" simply wouldn't work, as there would be nothing for the outside air pressure to act on to operate the regulator.

Looks like a solution looking for a problem to me.


Like others when I have trouble its usually the pump stops pulling because the pump membrane on the other side dries out. Using the alternative teflon pump membrane and not letting the carb dry out solves that easily.

And I wish people would stop spreading the urban legend that ethanol causes contamination. Ethanol is a solvent people - its actually CLEANING your fuel system out. Any deposits you see with E10 fuel are from the ethanol removing deposits from the dirty fuel you used previously.

Ethanol (and methanol, IPA, and all alcohols) is hygroscopic so it absorbs water which corrodes the aluminum carb castings, it has less lubricity. There is no upside to it, it is all politics.

Ethanol causes damage the longer it sits the worse it is because of moisture absorption
And it attacks metal
I’ve seen fuel pumps and internal tank wiring destroyed by it
Many car collectors have found out the hard way
