Re: New DL-55 and DL-111

Hi
Does anyone know if the 111 would fit in the same cowl as the 100 without cutting.
It has a longer stroke. Is this just a longer bore in the same cylinder, or i is it a longer cylinder.
A plug cap to plug cap meassurement would be nice.

www.dlenginesaustralia.com should have some in the air testing.

He already did a DLE-55 break down and compared it to the DL-50.

My DL55 will be here monday, but due to surgery, I won't be able to mount or run mine for about 4 weeks. Hopefully someone else can get some numbers.

Anders.
I just picked up my new DL-111 from the post office so i can measure it.

New DL-111 is a little over 10" cylinder head to cylinder head, not counting plug and boot.
Old was 10.07" so they the same as far as I can tell.
The first pic with the writing is the DL-100

My new Pitts arrived as well this week, it will be April before I have a chance to start putting it together and providing some feedback. I only opened it to inspect it.

The box was clearly dropped on its edge, no damage at all. Engine is packed tight in expaned foam.

Love the smell of machine oil!

Re: New DL-55 and DL-111

I would like to try the DL 111 sometime. Someone commented on who buys DA's anymore and after looking at their site, it seems like they are redoing some things to stay in the game. It seems like their marketing tactics are changing more towards affordability now as seen in their wording in the descriptions of their engines. I bought my DA 50 in the fall of 07' when DL's didn't seem quite as popular as they are now. I was thinking of selling my slightly used DA to go towards a DL 111, but as I'd like to get about $500 out of mine I don't think people are as willing to pay big bucks for DAs. Hopefully this drives DA to lower their prices so people like me who would prefer a DA can afford a DA.

What are the major differences between the DL -111 and the DA-100?

DA doesn't even update their website to reflect the release of a new product until a year after it has been released. Since I quit looking I'm not even sure they do it by then.

One has to to get pricing and specs second hand from sites like FG.

Re: New DL-55 and DL-111

Hi

Can anyone give me the dimensions for the DL111 from the back of the mountplate to the back of the spinner or prop, please? Any other dimensions will be appreciated as well.

Cheers.
