I've been using signblazer. It's a bit dated but is easy to use and free. Tried cutting oracover / ultra cote / ultra sag in my cutter but had trouble with it falling off its backing. In the end I put a permanent marker in the place of the cutting blade and had the cutter draw the shapes on the film, then cut them out by hand. What a mission. There must be an easier way. Paint !

I've been using a US Cutter MH 39" hardware for a while along with Affinity Designer and Easy Cut Studio/Pro for software.
Had great luck with some really cool designs, nailing down a workflow that, well, works.... For covering material, I use a sticky back mat, peel the covering off it's backing and stick it to that which makes the mat size a limiting factor but oh well. It gets cut on the mat and transferred for ironing. I use Glad Press and Seal to transfer it off the sticky mat and to transfer onto the plane, lightly iron and then hotter after I tack it across and peal the Press and Seal away. |

I have a Cricut Maker. The software that drives it is adequate but not great. I have cut vinyl and monocote, either works well - if I'm cutting the size of the mat (12x24) then monokote is easier to manipulate, but small detailed stuff is easier with vinyl. As for brands, Orocal or Cricut vinyl has worked best. Compound graphics are not difficult at all, but can be time consuming depending on what you are trying to accomplish. |

The file types accepted are listed below. It would be great if others could share logo files of these types for those of us who use Cricut. We could add them to the previous thread shown in post #17 above. BMP PNG JPEG GIF SVG DXF |
