I would take any manufacturer's horsepower rating with a grain of salt.

You guys are right, with the right thrust offset, right cylinder forward makes a lot more sense!
Since you have a DLE, GP and DA, how would you rate the engines,#1, #2 and #3 for overall performance?

(With price not being a consideration ).

I would rate the GP at par with the DA, the GP having more power, like 170 rpm more withe the same prop.
I flew the new DLE 130 today for the first time and all i have to say is that this new DLE130 is setting the bar to the next level!

How do you rate the GP ... as "at Par" with the DA, when you stated it has more power and turns almost 200 more rpm on the same prop as the DA ???

You have to read the words! STLAV8R is asking how does it rate in performance! not power nor rpm. They both perform alike in reliability,
easy start, idle, quality, mid range.

is there headers available for this? or is it the same as the DLE111?

Is DLE 111/120 the same header as DA120?

It is definitely not the same as the DLE111 it has slightly wider bolt pattern, dont own a 120 but it may be the same as the 120.??

I meant DLE 120! The DA120 has round ports, the DLE130 has rectangle ports.

And that is something I have never understood, I have only seen round tube headers, and the so called stock “mufflers” are just recycling materials.

I guess it's because different engine designers have different opinions on what works best for their application, see a lot of different shape and size of exaust ports in motorsports racing.
Some think their designs are better at scavenging the exhaust gasses than the others based on their port timing etc.

I flew my new DLE130 last weekend and i am very happy with it so far. It starts very easy, idles fairly low and smooth, power is in my opinion a bit above the GP123 .
It was running extremely rich on the hi end at factory settings at first, had to lean it way more than manual states on both needles and running a Falcon 27x11 that i had available is not enough prop. Next time i am going to try a 29x9. The carb is that of a 170 and installed where the throttle arm is on the right side, opposite from all others.
I think this one has a lot of potential!

It was once explained to me by a very knowledgeable person that it is much more expensive to die cast a round port than a square or rectangle one. If our cylinders were sand cast, the expense would be less for that part of the cylinder but of course sand castings are more expensive overall. They are also more suited to limited production numbers. Most all ports are rectangle at the cylinder wall and only transition to round as they exit the casting.

I have about 30 flights on mine plus two this morning. I never ran or owned a DLE120, i do have a DLE111 that is 10 years old now, i removed it to install the 130.
I have several GP123 and DA 120 and nothing in that class compares to the power of the 130.
I am running a Mejzlik 27X12th and it was turning it at 7300 static on the ground in a perfect cool day before broken in, havent checked it after all these flights. By far the most fun for me to fly.

Sounds like you need a bigger prop!
