I’ve read a couple places and had a few people on FB message me about the CG being off. They’re saying that at the recommended CG it’s very tail heavy. They have recommended adding some weight to the nose. I don’t have specifics on where they have balanced though

Someone correct me if wrong but all the cg complaints i found were with the 87". And ive had several on the pilot fb page tell me that their 73" balanced well on the factory cg location.

If you get the 70, order the mtw110h and 60mm drop header. It will fit if you cut the rear of the tunnel open and extend it to the back of the wing like I did.

Iím waiting until I do a balance test to decide on batteries- if I end up needing nose weight Iíll order larger packs.

Regardless of whether it needs the weight, some of us have to use the can do to noise restrictions.

2 of the folks who had CG issues had the 73Ē airframe.

This thread has been great so far. Provided me with a bunch of info. I appreciate the exhaust suggestions from you both. DA is showing the 60mm header out of stock. I actually have to take a trip down to Tucson AZ in late February so I may just stop I to their place while Iím there and pick it up.

FInally got time to get some work done...

I got all the ailerons done and routed the upper extensions. . But along the way I found another QC problem - cracked outer wing tube

Looks like the end of the tube was pushed in and not fully supported by the center rib. I can fix it, but its annoying.

Next I built up a frame and boxed in the rest of the can tunnel. You could probably leave this open and get away with it, but I'm running smoke and want to keep the interior clean.

The top of the tunnel was made a bolt on panel (I ran out of light ply so made some with balsa and 1/64 ply).

I made a platform to support the dual tanks. The can is very close to the top of the tunnel so I didn't want to run velcro though the supplied slots and risk melting it.

I also mounted up the smoke pump.

Also installed the Bad Dog smoke nozzles and checked the fit of the header and started thinking about locations to run the fuel lines and ignition.
