I have a couple of 1 pc cowl, which are a PITA to baffle. On and off 79 times for measuring, fitting, trimming, more trimming, spotting gaps that need closed off. The 2 pc cowl is a breeze, but still takes a lil bit of time.

The tighter you get your baffle to the cylinder heads, the better it will be.

First 2 pics are 1 pc cowls. 1 is a G200 and the 2nd is a Corvus Racer. The 3rd pic is my MX2.

As I think we should have a thread on just baffles, I started a new thread under General Discussions called "Show us your baffles".. There are so many variables, techniques and materials that could be applied and I would like others to share their experiences.

This was my first time using foam, but alluminum, ply, balsa, cardboard, and many other materials could also be used.

I would like to see how others have done it so I can apply those techniques and materials to my next project.

It would also be a great reference for those doing it for the 1st time.

Lol i love it , I was thinking the same thing.

A couple of pictures as I near the end of this build. Looks like the weather this weekend is going to prohibit a maiden, but I will at least try to get a little gas through the motor in preparation for the maiden at the earliest opportunity.

Awesome, now i gotta find some lol I can us carbon but carbon is a little rough inside.

My procedure for locating and drilling a tuning access hole in the cowl. I use a hard mounted laser pointer aimed at the high/low carb adjustment needles. The below pictures should explain the process:

I don't mind personal. Haha ill show you mine if you show me yours. Hahaha

Finally got to maiden the ARS this morning. This is the 1st time I have been able to maiden a plane and NOT put in ANY trim. Not sure if that's the quality of Skywing, my assembly/building or a bit of both.

That being said, the plane was flawless... Two quick flights to heat cycle the DLE 130 (which was also flawless) and to now check all the linkages, etc... Slows down nicely for landing (Falcon 29x9W), stable and predictable in all situations and tracks like it's on rails. I didn't fly it hard, but will plan on more stick time later in the week.

The one item I will change/address is the rudder servo arm and linkage as there could be some binding in certain situations (down elevator with rudder).
