Before we do anything else lets pay our RC respect to Mr. Jerry L. Smith. While Jerry L. and I haven't shared a flight line since last summer we did have a nice phone conversation last week. I say that to say this - the E Outlaw was designed by 9 time NCFFA champion Jerry L. Smith of lovely Paducah Kentucky!
I also have to bring up my other RC (and guitar) running buddy, Mr. Chris Hinson, the founder and head honcho of Extreme Flight RC.
"I am very excited to announce that the new Speed Freak E-Outlaw and Xpwr 3520 motor have arrived at our warehouse and are ready to ship!"
The E Outlaw is a very unique aircraft that has a wide flight envelope and is capable of some very interesting maneuvers unique to Jerry's design. The Outlaw features a progressive airfoil that transitions between the root and tip rib and also has built in anhedral. The E Outlaw retails for $159. 95.
Aerodynamicist Robert Vess assisted Jerry L. with the design. This unique airfoil and planform are part of what makes the Outlaw perform as it does.
The design has been modified to allow for easy installation of electric power systems. It has a spring loaded hatch allows instant access to your battery and the aircraft interior.
Head on over to Extreme Flight to learn more about this unique aircraft!

It is even better to see this in person!
I wonder how the production speeds compare to the ones seen at SEFF:

That seems awfully close for that many people to be standing to that many fast airplanes. Particularly when some people are paying no attention to the planes. After a collision or servo failure one of those planes could easily go into a spectator.

A fellow member at my club flies this insane delta. I never turn my back when he is flying just in case I need to get the hell out of the way.

You will not find a more fun plane to fly!!I had three of them with a Webra 36 on a pipe.
Flew it with 80% expo was the only way I could fly wide open! Going to give the E version a try this time. Everyone needs to try this one out! |

Airboss ESC setup for high RPM operation
For those using the new Xpwr/Airboss power system it is highly recommended that you follow the Airboss ESC programming instructions and set the timing to High Advance. This is very easy and only takes a minute and will ensure that you get the best results.
If you've mainly been flying 3D models recently get ready for an exhilarating experience! |
