Another loss to the aviation world. Aerobatic pilots do have an expiration date that they all know will come one day. Even then its a sad day when it comes around.

RIP Mr. Dell

Everyone has an expiriation date. All of us. Not all aerobatic pilots parish in crashes. Some of the greatest daredevils have lived full, long lives and have left us from natural causes. Of course aerobatic flying greatly increases the risk of an accident, but so does getting in your car to drive to work. Still, we all do it anyway. It's in our nature to persue what makes us happy and guys like Glen and countless others are proof that we can all acheive our dreams if we just put forth the effort. And for that, I'm thankful that there's so many out there living their dreams and interacting with us giving us the motivation to go after it. I agree with you that there's no way to prepare for the news that something tragic has happened and it is indeed sad to hear, but shouldn't be expected. My prayers are with the family and friends of Glen Dell.

Damn - another flat spin recovered too low. Almost the exact same crash as the Russian airshow Extra crash back in June.

Huh? I've been flying acro since I was 16. Your statement is so silly it nears offensive.

Very sad news. Jim Bourke just contacted me and asked if this was on FG. He expressed to me how tragic this loss was.
This is a huge loss to the aviation world.
Condolences to anyone who knew Mr. Dell.

And yes, this was the developer of the Slick.
