Love mine too. Setting up a model is a lot easier than my DX9. There are two things I’ve noticed....

1 - It does take a while to boot up, but you don’t really need to shut it down, unless it needs charging. If you put it to sleep it consumes hardly any power and wakes up instantly when you need it. I gave it a full charge over a week ago and have flown 3 long days since. When I land I put it to sleep. When I fly again I wake it up. When I’m done for the day I put it to sleep. So about 8 days since a charge, 3 flying days and the rest of the time in sleep mode, I’m at about 30% charge. I’ll charge before going out again....or charge on the way. The iX12 uses a USB cord to charge, so it plugs into the truck really well.

2 - if you try to put it to sleep with a memory card inserted, it tells you that it can not go to sleep fully with the memory card installed. OK, no problem. Problem is when you try to wake it up with a memory card inserted, it crashes. It does it every time, so it’s not a fluke. Guessing it will be addressed in an update.

The screen seems fine to me. No problem seeing it at the field. Volume also seems fine and I don’t have it turned up all the way.

You can charge the iX12 powered on or in sleep mode, just like your cell phone.

The SD card bug is well noted and will be fixed in a future update, just remove the card before putting it to bed for now.

IX 12 file corrupted

Had one good day with my IX 12. next day, I turned it on and got file corrupted message. I have only 1 plane profiled. It said it made a recover copy, but telemetry, audio, timer and image were lost. What happened?
Got 1/2 hr run around with Tower hobbies trying to get to a tech. Never did.
Do I have to reprogram the aircraft again?

My friend has had Airware get corrupted on boot up twice now and he lost everything both times as airware had to be reinstalled. He's afraid to turn it off anymore and leaves it turned on all day, not standby mode.

The exact same thing happened with a friend at the field . We had to re-program his entire jet .

You have to start backing your models up!

I too have lost models when I powered up my iX-12. It used to not do this. So, I assume a recent update contains a bug. Fortunately, I had a backup (actually two backups including the one on a SD card) so, it was no problem to reload the model from a backup file.

I don't understand why folks do not take advantage of making backups of their models! It will save you a lot of aggravation if anything ever happens to a model and big time if you lose your transmitter completely by damage or it will not turn on.

I just got an IX12 last week. I charged it up and I set a couple models up with it then took it to the field today. A new to me plane was first on the list to fly, It took about 20 minutes to range check it and get it running, then the transmitter battery was dead. I shut the transmitter off over night and only powered it on at the field when read to range check it. There has to be something wrong for the battery to go dead so quick. any ideas?
