I'm working the baffling this weekend. I cut some posterboard templates and will cut them out of the creative foam. Other that I didn't do much. I flew the pier yesterday and it's still flying good. I did have to go thru the dubro ball links and loosen them up some by polishing the balls.

I finished up the baffles. The nice thing about using this creative foam is once it is heated up by the engine it will form fit with out leaving any residue on the mofor. Right now it's being pushed out of shape a bit but will end up fitting between the engine find.

I think except for the radio setup I'm about finished. My new Jeti radio should be here by the weekend so hopefully in a couple weekends the first flight should be done.

I was doing my balancing last night and for the da-70 I was having to place my 2- 2500ma batteries back by the rudder servo to balance along the wing tube center. I don't believe I have too much extra weight in the front of the plane.

I was wondering if anyone else with a da-70 had to move weight towards the back of the radio tray?

Thanks

I was looking at servo's for this plane and was wondering if 305in oz servos would be undersized for 3d?

those should be fine. they're only 300 at the low end of the voltage (7.2v). in normal use they will be a bit higher. they are a little bit more expensive, but I have been quite happy with the Savox 1270s, which are well over 400 oz for about 80 bucks and center well.

Yes, you will have plenty of power with the DA-70.
The reinforcements for the landing gear probably added a little un-necessary weight: I never had a landing gear pop loose, except for a 36% Edge that went into fail-safe (in the 72mhz days), and the plane idled itself to ground at 45 degrees...

Flew the extra today. All went great. The da70 started right up. Ran a bit rich but it ran with no mid range hesitation.

I had a blast last weekend with the extra. I finally got the da70 happy with a 24x9 falcon prop and the plane flew great and was a joy to fly. On landing now the plane sticks with no bouncing which I really like. It also slows down a bit better for landings with the 24x9 vs the X10 prop.

However, the gear cuffs are already cracking. I think the plastic could be a bit thicker. I also didn't help much since I pushed them up snug against the fuselage sides. I guess I should have left a 1/16" or so gap.

Yes, the cuffs should not fit too tight against the fuse: if it is tight, when the gear flexes, something would have to give, whether the fuse or the cuffs, something would crack.

Live and learn...I thought between the rtv I used to glue them on with and the tubing around the top edge they would have enough give but I guess not, next time.

The 2-1 header I thought I could get never came thru for me. I was looking on DA's web site and they only have a 2-1 header in 40, 60 ,90 drops.

I have yet to pull the cowl to double check but would any one of these options work?

Thanks
