Choice for 3D

Looking for a new airframe and wondering which of these 3 would be the better choice for 3D.
SU 26M, SBach 342 or a Slick 540.
Thanks for the help.

In order to help you to answer your question first what airframe's by what company are you talking about and what size airplane are you looking at getting into?

1.Slick 2.SBach 3.SU 26M exactly in this order from the choices you gave from the companies stated.
Just a little food for thought, for 3D I'd be looking at that Raven on milehighrc or a Edge 540. That is of course if your looking for a 3D machine. I hope this helps.Good Luck

Sounds good, I have an extra now and was looking at the SU for something different but if it is not as good a 3D machine I will look to the Slick.

I have a couple Carden 40% Edge's,Pilot 30% Extra 260 and a 3D Hobbyshop 46.5% Slick and they all fly good.It really just depends on what model you like then find a kit that's good.

Re: Choice for 3D

What I am looking for is a primary (goto) plane to fly the guts out of basically. I have seen EG planes up close and they look like good machines. I did some research on the Gold wing planes and it would appear they are from the same factory with similar specs. The SU has CF gear like EG but it doesn't come with a spinner. I like the price of both 650.00 or less at my door. Any other planes in this price point I could look at please let me know. I saw an MX2 by EG also.
Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

EG,Pilot,Gold Wing, even my 3DHP Slick all look the same as far as the build goes.
On Chief Aircraft's website all the 30% Pilot planes are $600.00.

Re: Choice for 3D

You cannot really go by the airframe as much as the company that makes a particular airframe. Each manufacturer may use different scaling as well as different airfoils, not to mention different structural designs which is really important if your looking to unleash all of the newer high demand 3D maneuvers. If you don't want to go with the winners in this area like Extreme Flight, 3D Hobbyshop, Aeroworks and the likes, You must do a lot of research and watch a lot of videos to narrow this decision down. I am sold on the first 2( due to there extremely well rounded 3d and precision envelope) and anything else might be a compromise.

Re: Choice for 3D

I own an extreme flight yak and love it. I know 3dhs and EF both have excellant airplanes and second to none service but as stated above I can have an EG plane at my door with nothing left to buy for under 650.00. This plane is going to be the goto, (fly the guts out of platform) and I don't want to throw another 150.00 for shipping and a spinner if I don't have to. I have seen the EG aircraft up close and watched them fly, they are built and fly as well as any other leading manufacturer. they also have a greater selection in the 50cc area for planes I don't have (Slick, MX-S, MX-R, Sbach 342 etc. I already have a 50CC Extra and Ultimate and a 74" Yak so I wanted something to 3D and that was different. Hence my choices at the beginning of the thread.
