Same for me.
Not so easy to understand where the cg really is on big planes.
Anyway i need some mixes for KE fliyng, on both ailerons and elevator.
And i had to get two washers on the lower engine mounts, to rise trust line.
Without rear ballast, the plane was too nose heavy and lazy, with some bad abits in stall attitude.

I fly mine almost neutral (very little input needed inverted) just a touch barely nose heavy

almost zero noticeable coupling. i use no mix on this plane

no way it would need more than 1-2% if I did

Do you know where your CG is on the plane?

You are probably right to let it go, just hate the spread of misinformation.

It is not misinformation it is opinions, the problem is some want to share their opinion as if it was a fact. Fact is their opinion is only relative to them creating a fact to them that probably does not apply to others.
Example: The Laser is the best flying plane I have ever owned or flew, this is a fact to me and it will differ with others.

There is nothing in this comment that adds any value to this thread, or this discussion.........at all........whatsoever.........................way to go hotrod

Also, it kinda goes against your agreeing with my decision to let it go.

I fully stand by everything I ve said about this plane and dont agree at all, just to be clear. Flying tail heavy is not going to satisfy 99% of those out there and I dont consider that a solution.

All comments on these planes flight characteristics from any of us should be considered opinions ........dont we all know this??

Im not sure exactly. I just got it in the air initially, then gave it what it needed to get it to fly how I described. Didnt have to do anything special really. Normal simple setup..... so you should have no trouble finding the same thing. I can check it next time I have it together for you.

Itís really not that big of a deal. I was just curious. Some people know for certain, some donít. I will probably just start out where AJ recommends anyway and adjust from there.

Thanks,
Tim

Today I was at the field for about four hours, really enjoying the Laser. On what I called the last flight and I'm going home we had a mid air... The wings will be a fairly easy repair but the fuse is a different story. I did find that AJ sell's a front end, what they call the motor box, and should cover the damage. I will strip the fuse Sunday and see if the normal heat method will separate the wood. If it does I'll order everything needed to rebuild it, if not, I'll order another airframe.

It as been stripped and the motor box removed. The box covers most of the damage, not counting balsa, but one rib will have to be handmade. I will wait for the replacement parts to clean everything up so as to terminate at an appropriate point.

The left wing stripped, going to need some love. The right wing is so minimal I am not going to post it.
Could someone give me a good side pic of the fuse to go by when recovering?
