Another question. I was looking at the instructions for my TF FW-190 and there are marks on the firewall to mount the engine. A DA-50 and DLE-55 use the same marks. However, when I looked up the specs for the current DLE-55s neither has the same mounting dimensions as a DA-50. That makes me assume there was an older DLE-55, the FW-190 instructions are from 2012.

that's because it's a round cowl and doesn't have a spinner circle on the cowl. a slight offset isn't noticeable. but they are definitely not the same as a few moments of research will show.

I appreciate your help but maybe I didn’t explain myself very well. I do not know the DLE lineup at all, I never owned one. I was trying to find out if a DLE-55 is the same as a DLE-55RA. I thought the point of these forums was to reach out to fellow modelers for assistance and sometimes clarification. I am sorry to bother you.

well, I can only do so much. I have already explained to you that the DA 50, the DLE 55 side exhaust, and the DLE 55RA are all different mounting patterns. You may think otherwise. There isn't nor was there ever a 55 rear exhaust that wasn't an RA. the 55RA dimensions are below. It is not the same as the side exhaust 55. All of this information can be found through Google. Don't be offended.
The DA 50 is close to but not the same mounting pattern as the DLE 55 side exhaust. the DLE 55 side exhaust mounting pattern is completely different from the DLE 55RA http://www.kingslynnmodelshop.co.uk/...duct_info.html DLE has a comprehensive website with the dimensions/specs of all their engines, but I keep getting a warning not to open it. I hope they get it resolved because it is a great resource. |
