DW SKUA

Well I just got a 40" 55M from Mike at DW a couple weeks back and it is insane good. I was at a fly in at Tyler TX and a buddy had the BIG SKUA set up as a night flyer and to say it was perfectly fit for it was a total understatement. So I needed one. I don't have the budget for the big one but Hey the small one is perfect. I ordered it today so as soon as it gets here I will do a quick little build thread.. No biggie they build quick and true but after everybody telling me to get another 55M I just have this huge place for a BIPE.. See you guys back here in a week or so..

You can check it out here http://www.shop.depronwest.com/33in-...-DWF-33001.htm

Texas? *** are you doing in Texas?

Everything I've heard about the Skua has been positive. Haven't heard a single negative comment about the way it builds or flies.

Well I thought hey wind isn't so bad I will go far a quick flight.. Wind isn't bad but damn is it cold.. I put her back.. I ended up standing behind the tree to hide from the cool breeze. Here is my 40"55M and the reason I will be a DW fan for along time to come..

Re: DW SKUA

Nothing like a tracking #.. My package is in my town.. Now let see if they can get it the 11 miles in under three days. My mail man knows what is in all the boxes that come to the house and he enjoys screwing with me. He gave my last box to the neighbor and he brought it over late that evening.. They get a kick of jacking with me.. I will be on the road today for sure..

Nothing like have the mail man cruise his truck down to the lake to hand me my mail..

This is all the carbon and piano wire for control rods. All neatly taped to the bottom of the box. Not sure what the extra foam is for but my last kit had extra foam in it.. I'm not complaining I will keep it around for those eventual repairs..

Your typical foam safe CA from BSI and something I haven't used is this PVA glue. I am going to try and tack with CA and glue with the PVA. Not sure if I have the patience for the dry time on the PVA

Re: DW SKUA

Ok, I get hassled for the landing gear but I like a plane with gear. Two reasons one I don't have the chop's the the hover to hand. the other is this will be my primary indoor flyer so she will have a nice surface to fly off.

This is the Decal sheet and manual.. yes I will pre read before I start. When I built my 55M I was in a hurry and I missed something small but it always pisses me off when its not perfect. (I missed the servo side placement)

Re: DW SKUA

For what is left.. I need a indoor JR/spectrum 4 channel receiver(I may try the HK knockoff), four servos(Hs55 or the S75's) and an ESC (probably the thunderbird 8 or if I feel frisky the scorpion).

I am going to pick up two fresh 3cell 800mah packs for this bird. I have some 2Cell stuff and some other 800-1000 3 cell stuff but its time for some new packs..
