Steve,
DO NOT USE LOCK-TITE! The backplate is precision tapped. The M2 screws fit perfectly. There are tiny nylon washers that come with the screws. When you tighten the screw down it should compress the washer just a tiny bit. I've never had one come loose on the SMJ spinner.

Using lock-tite you run the risk of stripping out the screw and then not being able to get it out.

I have been using carbon spinners for over ten years and not ever needed or used loctite. As already mentioned, use the nylon washers and tighten the screws just enough to slightly compress the washer. If your use loctite, More than likely you'll end up stripping the head of the screws the first time you need to take the spinner off.
These spinners look great! Maybe for next year's project.

Coupe you are correct about LOCKTITE. After the first run of backplates which had a super tight tap, I have loosened the threads up just a bit. Guys were having problems with the tight tolerance and using LOCKTITE made it tough to get the screws on and off. With the looser tapping (still very tight) I am letting guys use blue LOCKTITE as an option but you are fine not using it, it does eat the paint if your sloppy with it.

Steve, where can replacement screws and the plastic washers be purchased. I don't need any yet, but I can see me losing one at the field retorquing a prop.

Shadow1100 makes them. He's right in this thread.

These are hands down the coolest looking spinners I have seen. I'm sure somebody out there doesn't like them but I sure do. Wish he made 4". My new EF Edge would look t!ts.

John,
I get the screws from McMaster Carr, the washers are tricky, I order them from a local Ace hardware, they are made by Hillman who doesn't sell direct to the public.

Easily the best spinner around. You can see this even when full throttle, the spinner looks like it's not moving cos it spins so true!
