78" Pilot RC Edge 540

I have got a Hamilton scheme (#469) that I'm in the process of setting up. DLE35RA with stock exhaust. After searching I cannot find any build pics or set-ups. Please post'em if you got'em. Trying to figure out CoG. So far I'm about an inch off, tail heavy. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, the one I received had the corrected CG location indicated. Still having a tough time getting to it. I am 3/8" off now with batteries in the motor box AND 2.5 oz of lead weight. I've liked my Pilot aircraft tail heavy, usually move the CG back after maiden.

Think you might want to look at a canister set-up, Cycletech. This might have been designed around using one.

I was thinking about the canister pipe but It being only 35cc it would sound to much like a nitro motor. I like the throater sound of a stock pipe. I actually had two issues so far building it today. First the print on the main wings is damaged from the paint pulling away on the paper they used under the bubble wrap. Secound one of the round wood built up discs that the bkind nut is pushed into for my right side elivator bolts litterly fell away from the frame when I removed the bolt for the first time to install the elivator. Im about to install the motor and by this point other then thise two things the modal seems not too bad for what it is. Make sure you go around with some medium CA and hit ALL the joints. They are built light.

So In terms of your cg issue, I Have a canister and have batteries (2x Life 1450 Mah - 95gms each)) in the motor box and i get a balance @ about 104-105mm From Le.

I think that you will need to add some more nose weight or a Can

My Build Log is here, maybe of some help

Good read. Nice job. Two different airframes though, Hodge. The 35cc airframe has a spot laser cut for the throttle servo for starters. I’ve been using the 30 cc manual and am still left guessing on a few things. This model needs one of it’s own. Tony, if you’re listening....

The CG is close to ours though. As I measured 1.1” in front of the wing tube, it appears to be similar to the 30cc if measured from the LE. I got 4.25” or 108mm (if I did it correctly).
