50-60cc two stroke single cylinder.
4 stroke engines are generally less powerful ( Given the same capacity ) They tend to have more torque, but my experience is overall they are down on power.
The same deal with radials. I found that a Moki 215 radial was very similar power to a DA150 ( When I re engined a plane with a radial)
Thus why we fly the Oscar with the 90 R3. It has plenty of power in reserve. I am sure a 60 Radial would fly the Oscar, but I have a feeling that it would leave most people wanting for more horses!

Hope this helps? Regards Ali

Thanks Ali so could it fit on one of the 20cc warbird planes. I love this engine! I flew it in an Extreme Flight 91" Yak and it did very well, but I would love a warbird. In hind site, I should have bought the 90R3.
Thanks

The 60R3 fits in the TF Zero, whereas the 90 will not, or I would have already gotten one, not sure how good it would fly it however. If you can find a warbird in the 30cc range you might be in business

Any new pictures of the plane, gear install and better quality than the ones from the ad? Are the prototypes all using the hanger nine retract without problems. If so why the need for Sierra retracts.?

Proto and demo model number 1 and 2 ( DLE 61 and Saito 90 radial ) have the stock gear fitted and have logged well over 100 flights. All development flying was done on these two airframes. As was the videos, still shots and a bunch of sport and demo flying. The gear is working today, as it did the first day. Not once have I had to land on anything other than two solid gear downs. That's over the period of about 1 year.
I cant think of a better example/ test of how a retract system works?
The reason for the Sierra gear?? I listened. The same as the reason why air gear. The clear majority is what I heard from modellers at events and fly ins was that in the giant scale segment air gear is favoured. I like electric gear myself ( I am lazy and its one less thing to do before a flight ) But if my customers want air gear. Then that's what they get ( Electric gear is starting to happen BTW )
As I listened to feedback, I heard from multiple sources how the gear made or broke a giant scale experience for them. I heard how they would rather pay that bit extra and get a set that was sourced in the US and could be serviced and repaired easily. They also wanted higher quality than what our vendors could supply. So it was a no brainer. Having had Sierra gear in the past on personal models. I knew what I needed to do.
I wanted our customers to have options is basically what it boils down to.
Regards Ali
