I got a serious question for ya...With electrics does your altitude effect them that much? I know that the air is thinner, so does that effect thrust that much or just with gas/glow engines?

Thanks

NOPE! If a guy is putting out 500 watts at sealevel with the same motor/battery combo as I have, I can get the same watts! All I have to do, sometimes, is re-prop it...this would explain why I no longer have any fuel powered planes up here - even my 35%er is going electric!

That's what I thought... the real disadvantage is the lack of oxygen for combustion.

I still have to deal with the thinner air meaning less lift, though (want to really learn 3D - come up here to the nosebleed!), which is why I am still a light freak - that's why I LOVE these Flitons - They are among the lightest in their class!

Max, what battery are you planning on using? I was thinking of getting some of the TP 3400 maH Xtreme packs.

Re: Fliton Andrew Jesky Extra 330 Build

ben,
We're using the Fliton 2150 4s 20C battery w/ APC 13-6.5 E prop and getting about 6 min. flight time. On the wattmeter it's showing 560W and 45 amps after about 10 seconds at WOT and has crazy power. If you go with 4s Extremes your power will be insane, maybe, dare I say, too much.......nahhh.

Ben, take a look at the EVO 2500's. They will hold the best voltage for their capacity and will give you longer flight times. I have one of those packs and two Hyperion 3200's. I am running the 3S setup.

I was thinking of using the 3400 Xtreme because it has a 22C continuous discharge rate vs. the 20C of the Evo.

I've got the Inspire Mini to replace my JJ. The JJ is a great flier, and the IM is even better!

Back on topic. Nice pics on this thread. My build of the AJ Extra will start in the Spring.

What are some of the different flight packs you could use and their projected flight times with this plane?
