Futaba service center Gone ????

Ok so I fly futaba . And just got the new 16 and out of the box was no good . It would not program , so I called towers they tried to trouble shoot the issue. And came to the conclusion that it had something wrong and needed to be sent it . So I sent it in and tracked it and it was delivered this past Monday . I called Tuesday to see if they had a chance to look at it. There response was sorry it’s misplaced in our warehouse we are trying to find it. Here it is Thursday May 10th , I call em and still can’t find it. So an hour gos by and they find it and call and tell me this along with the fact that futaba no longer has a contract with them . And so they are not autoriz d to work on it . That they are no longer a futaba dealer nor service center. They did say that Futaba USA is a new site but that there is no repair center. And that the radio is being returned. I told em no I want a refund . So I’m done with futaba .... Rant over

Hobbico went bankrupt and Horizon bought up Hobbico. Short story is Futaba will be direct now out of Huntsville AL “Futaba USA”. They will be handling sales and have the service Dept up and running soon.
Futaba could not do anything because of the contract with Hobbico until this past week. Unfortunately you are caught in a transition period. Not Futaba’s fault. You might want to contact Futaba USA and see if they can get you taken care of.

Smart move asking for your money back. Bad enough you got a DOA product.

It does suck that you received a bad radio but why blame Futaba for Hobbico going bankrupt.
https://futabausa.com/ there is a contact form that you should use to notify Futaba of your problem.

I know your heated up due to this issue but Futaba is working on their new center and trying to get it up and running as soon as they can. I'm sure you will be taken care of shortly.

Hang in there Brknprops. As stated above you were caught in the unfortunate transition period. I believe moving forward things will be much better.

Since it’s new,- out of the box -Tower should have exchanged it right away...and not bounce you around..

As stated above, Futaba probably could not start the ball rolling till the dust settled with the sale. It's an unfortunate situation and the timing sucked...

Perhaps Tower had sold out of all that they had in stock and did not have one to exchange? Just a thought...

Then they should have reimbursed him...when you sell a good you have the obligation to sell a product that work for the intended purpose. Out of the box defective = echange or give the money back.

I agree. Was just saying that they may not have had any left to exchange. They are on back order again.

Yes, plus several other threads have been following this.

Futaba USA is up and running:

https://futabausa.com/

Including sale and service. Note that the prices are higher than before. This is due in large part to the new 25% import tariffs imposed by our government on items imported from China. Despite being a Japanese company many Futaba products are manufactured in China.

Futaba Service Gone

Don't kid yourselves about Futabausa being up and running. I sent my Tx in for service 2 and 1/2 months ago and have gotten nothing but replies about how they are backed up and have had 3 different prices for the repair. I suspect they don't have the spare parts as was the problem with Hobbico. There are 3 "technicians" listed as their repair center and they apparently work for Marketing since they are out of town for weeks at a time at trade shows.

It's obvious that Futaba is getting out of the RC business or paring down to be acquired. Not sure I even need to get the Tx back since it doesn't work properly.
