Giant Scale Foam Bi Plane Build

Hi Everyone I always wanted a Giant Scale Plane, So I am going to try to make one I have been flying and building Model Planes for many years now, recently got involved with E Power, about 3 years ago, had a few e power foamy planes turn out well, so thats giving me the confidence to make a Big One here are a few pics of my foamy plane, its being made with 6mm and 9mm depron, cf and bass wood, it will be e powered, i am going to use a 3520-7 TP motor with a 15x4 prop on 4 cells with a 50 amp esc, the plane is going to be lite, I hope I am using 2- 2350 mah 25c 4 cell lipos in parellel for 4700mah 14.8 volts, the wings will be 80" wide and the fuse will be 6 ft Long, wish me luck, Take care, Chellie

Looks great Probably need to make airfoiled wings for your foamy, to prevent all that flex, or use 9mm foam and a couple spars on the wings.

Re: Giant Scale Foam Bi Plane Build

the 2- 2350mah 4 cell lipos hooked in parallel worked ok, with a 15x4 apc prop, but only gave me 550 Watts at 35 amps, I have some 5 cell 5000mah lipos, so i tried one much better, that gave me 988 Watts at 50 Amps. The planes AUW is 11.1lb with a 5000mah 5 cell lipo in it,

There are a Few gals in the hobby, but not very many, I think more gals should get involved in this wonderful hobby, to me its just arts and crafts, and most women are great at doing that, But i must admit, the e power took some learning, it took me about a year to learn and be comfortable with e power, as i have been flying nitro for a long time, I got started in this hobby with my father, he bought a cox pt 19 when i was about 13 years old, that was so much fun, that i never left modeling aircraft, i few CL for many years, then RC, started with a wonder 2 meter glider with a sig power pod, with a 049 cox motor and a 6x4 prop with a 2 channel radio, that was fun too Take care and have fun, Chellie

COOL

Make any plans for this beast, or do we all have to go out and start making our own designs?
