Hey Everyone. This build is complete and I maddened her two weeks ago. I had some engine trouble with my DLE 55RA. It would only given me about 1/4 power. She flew just fine with 1/4 power. So brought her back in and tore it apart to find the problem. So I will start this thread off this way but will go right into the build Log.

In another thread, I am building a Phoenix Models 20cc F4U Corsair. There I post videos of my friend Henry's videos where he built the Army version of this aircraft 6 years ago. He was a big part of helping me through this build because you get no instructions with this ARF.

Here are some videos of my friend Henry’s Bill Hempel 1/4 Scale L4 Grasshopper. This is the olive drab version of the same airframe. Henry built it six years ago. There was no manual with this plane then or now. Henry’s expert building techniques were shared with many others on the web who gave him no credit for his great ideas. Just to set the record straight. Not that Henry real cares about recognition. He loves the hobby and loves to help others. Not just in the hobby but life in general.

Since the Manual was posted by Mark’s Hangar. I’m not going to go into any deep narrative of my build. It went together pretty easily without the manual. But if I ever have to build another at least I have it now.

Last I talked to Bill was the 3rd week of November. I have a cub on order also. He was hoping the container would arrive by the end of the year. Send an email to his personal email. Billhempel@cox.net. He’s usually answered me within a few days.

I considered the 50% version of this plane before I ordered the super cub. Very nice. I still might have to get one.

Can someone provide the actual dimensions for the wings on the 1/4 scale L4 Grasshopper? I'm looking to buy some used wing bags and don't have my plane yet. Thanks.
