Hmmm, the Adrian Avitar poll thread isn't disrespectful or degrading? Or how about the countless girly avatars?

I guess when it has to do with politics, the focus on women becomes sensitive.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning it or condeming it. Just an observation....

No conspiracy theories, or a giant group of liberals storming the FG compound... just a simple mistake.

friends need to talk politics with friends!!!!! otherwise we are left with socialism and only those with political titles are allowed to discuss our futures and well being. cleavage or not, i like these threads. there is an instant common bond between us rc'ers and the cross-section of america we represent is wonderfully diverse! it is really neat to witness so many different lifestyles and cultures come together on the common ground of rc flying! we need to not only be free to discuss politically minded things in these circles....we should be encouraged to do so.

Looks like we haven't learned much from his words in the last 135 years!

During this political season let's be reminded of these wise words.You

cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.You cannot strengthen the weak

by weakening the strong.You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging

thrift.You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.You

cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.You cannot

build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and

independence.You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they

could and should do for themselves.

From another forum:

HOW LONG DO WE HAVE?

This is the most interesting thing I've read in a long
time. The sad thing about it, you can see it coming.

I have always heard about this democracy countdown. It is
interesting to see it in print.

How Long Do We Have?

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their
new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish
history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this
to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000
years earlier:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply
cannot exist as a permanent form of government."

"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time
that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts
from the public treasury."

">From that moment on, the majority always vote for
the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public
treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally
collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always
followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest
civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about
200 years"

"During those 200 years, those nations always
progressed through the following sequence:

1. from bondage to spiritual faith;

2. from spiritual faith to great courage;

3. from courage to liberty;

4. from liberty to abundance;

5. from abundance to complacency;

6. from complacency to apathy;

7. from apathy to dependence;

8. from dependence back into bondage"

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law,
St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts
concerning the 2000 Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29

Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000
Republicans: 2,427,000

Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million
Republicans: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the
territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the
taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat territory
mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned
tenements and living off various forms of government
welfare..." Olson believes the United States is now
somewhere between the "complacency and apathy"
phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with
some forty percent of the nation's population already
having reached the "governmental dependency"
phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty
million criminal invaders called illegal's and they
vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five
years.

If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this
message. If you are not, then pass this along to help
everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that
apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

Re: Out Future III (deleted by mistake)

Notice to All Employees

As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama is officially elected into office, our company will instill a few new policies which are in keeping with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness:
1. All salespeople will be pooling their sales commissions into a common pool that will be divided equally between all of you. This will serve to give those of you who are underachieving a “fair shake.”
2. All hourly employees will be pooling their wages, including overtime, into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst yourselves. This will help those who are “too busy for overtime” to reap the rewards from those who have more spare time and can work extra hours.
3. All top management will now be referred to as “ the government.” We will not participate in this “pooling” experience because the law doesn't apply to us.
4. The “government” will give eloquent speeches to all employees every week, encouraging its workers to continue to work hard “for the good of all.”
5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because it's “good to spread the wealth.” Those of you who have underachieved will finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had success will feel more “patriotic.”
6. The last few people who were hired should clean out their desks. Don't feel bad though, because President Obama will give you free healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free food stamps, and he'll let you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can't pay your mortgage. If you appeal directly to our democratic congress, you might even get a free flat screen TV and a coupon for free haircuts (shouldn't all Americans be entitled to nice looking hair?)!!!
If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may want to rethink your vote on November 4th.

In the Pledge of Allegiance there is the line.... " And to the Republic for which it stands, one nation Under God....."

Most people make the mistake to believe what they see on TV (or what the TV wants you to believe) that we in the USA are a Democracy, or that we are spreading Democracy. About the only Democracy left in the world id Switzerland where the people vote on issues (not canadates) about 4 times a year. In a Republic you vote for someone to fill the job....I.E. President, Congressman, Senator, Mayor....etc. etc.

Here is what they don't want you to know....If an elected official of any political affiliation does not represent the "We the People" and the "People"complain loud enough and long enough then the official can be removed from the job in a process usually called "Impeachment." Keep that in mind no matter who gets the job.

Also pay attention to Inauguration day when the person is sworn in and swears to uphold the Constitution of the United States. The constitution is very specific about the role of federal government and if someone starts violating any part of it they should be removed from office.....in due course after they have had their time to be proven incompetent.

Maybe "We The People" can make these people work for us like it was meant to be.

Question for all. How many of you have contacted your Congressman or Senator about an issue that you are not happy with lately?

I hope I have not offended anyone with my exercising of the first amendment.

I was getting ready to type the same thing...glad you beat me to it. Come on people...we are not a democracy...for the very reason the domacracies tend to be short lived. We are a republic..however most people do not understand that...This site http://www.lexrex.com/enlightened/Am...ts/demrep.html kind of explains it all...at least summarizes it.
