Sure. I am also thinking of being in Mt Vernon about 8am or so Saturday. We can meet down there on the way.

Probably have to work this weekend. Our plane broke yesterday and we took it to the service center today, but I think we're picking up another plane tomorrow so I'll be out until Sunday. There is talk of an informal fly-in at Wenatchee next weekend..........hey John, we up for re-creating our adventure from last year?

From the penalty box? Fun but I am not re-living that moment again. Not saying I won't do it again. Ryan, get up here next weekend.

I don't suppose an old guy should head south with you guys but if I still have a plane in one peace after tomorrow I might just follow you down there. You guys camping or swooping????????

Re: Flying PNW Style

Well I worked on the Su-26 today. I changed props and not much changed. I went back to stock needles and it still didn't seem like it had the power. I had all sorts of throttle curve travel adjustments to get it working and still it wasn't quite right.

I think I found the problems though. I took the cowl off and got into the engine. I noticed that my carb throttle arm wasn't long enough compared to the servo arm (not 1 to 1). I also noticed my servo centering was way off and wasn't allowing full throttle due to the arm length of the servo arm. I changed the arm to a longer one and adjusted the carb linkage so it all matched up and I got full range.

Now the engine sounded better and started with ease. I kept the 22x10 prop on it to finish off the break in fuel. I then added some other things for the weekend to the plane. Hopefully it all works out for me.
