Question
Prop and battery for motor

Looking for some help here guys. I don't really do the electric thing. But I have beat the crap out of an EF Edge EXP and found a EF 58" Extra 300 with a small wreck so I took on a little project. It has a Scorpion 4020-12 motor, 80amp castle creations, 10amp BEC. Going to run 6s power. I have no idea how to decide on props. I bought a 15x8e and 16x8e APC at the hobby shop since they are so cheap. Any insight?

Usually Scorpion would recommend a ESC and prop? Atleast I would had I been the manufacrure. Let me dig a little, and see what I come up with.

It would most definatetly help you in deciding which prop works best if you had a Watt meter. Astro makes one, as does Watts Up. It plugs inline with the battery to the ESC. I use a Watts up. It is good to 100A. I looked for some data online, and found some, but appeared to be incorrect. Sounds like the 15x8 may be just right......

I bought a watt meter when I first did my 48" and never opened it. This was all used. I just came upon it on a Craigs list ad with a bunch of junk.

One thing I found was16-10 was pulling 13.5 pounds thrust. I might email scorpion.
