Al Young

Folks, Many of you builder types may know Al Young at JTEC Radiowave better than I do. However, yesterday he did something for me I just have to report here on FG. I have an old Bob Trueworthy 41% Pitts Model 12 kit I bought from Bob in 2006. It is currently about 2/3 built, and I'm currently working on it. As you can tell, I'm not a speedy builder. I had a small electrical fire in my shop a few weeks ago, and lost the two big drawings of the wings. After cleaning up the mess and making sure that wouldn't happen again, I sent an email to JTEC asking if I could buy replacement drawings from them. A week or so later I get a phone call from Al. Within about an hour, Al had sent me the files for the two drawings so I could get them printed at my local print shop. WOW!! I've never met Al, and have never spent a dime with his company---but you know I will. What a nice and helpful person. Thanks Al Young

I bought a used Hanger 9 P-51 60cc and engine had a Jtec muffler on it. first flight the muffler broke. I called jtec and talked to Al. He said send it to him and he would see what he could do for me. Al call me and said it was not a warranty issue but he would sell me new muffler at his cost. I bought the new one and I think that Al was more than fair with me.

My experiences with them in building my T-craft was also exceptional.

I believe in giving credit where credit is due.

I just bought a 41% Extra kit from him that is supposed to arrive tomorrow and I must say, he's professional and a good communicator. I look forward to building the kit!

After having several phone conversations over the last few years with both Al and Kevin, I got to meet them at the TAS last year, and they both are awesome individuals. They will help you and share any information they have. Hope to see them again this year at the TAS..

I have a similar story to others. When I built my 2.7m JTEC Extra, it was my first giant scale kit build (third airplane kit). Al and Kevin both graciously spent tons of time on the phone with me answering questions and walking me through parts I didn’t understand. My sincerest gratitude to them both. Will definitely be buying another kit in the future from them. Great to also see their offerings for planes and accessories expanding.
