I spoke with Brad at Joe Nall about his engine as it was sold directly from Kolm and really wasn't market ready. Kolm has gone through massive restructuring and many changes in their products. Call me and I'll explain.

Question about the CARF P51 model
the one that is 1:4.3
so like 1/4 scale
or 25% sized

the one on the CARF website
listed as 100" wingspan

and the recommended engine is 50 cc to 85 cc?

But yet, I am seeing they are installing a Kolm Inline 230 cc three cylinder, 4 stroke engine?

same airplane they say can accept a 50 cc up to 85 cc

Am i reading this right?

Yes you do. But the Racers got some modifications to make the 230 fit perfect.

I did the same in my spitfire. The manual says DA50

Its not fully 1/4 But 1/4.3 scale its around the 22.5% mark in scale for memory.

True 1/4 Scale is 112 inch wing span.

you are right it is a 50-80cc plane, would be great candidate for the Roto 130FSI

Four stroke comes at a power loss so a 120cc 4stroke is really a 90-100cc 2Stoke
But yes 230cc is pretty insane. !!!!

Yes there getting mega over powered hahaha. Kolm does use this model as there test bed, So its get every engine it ins even the inline 4.

Most pilots are going with the Kolm 155 or around that range with the Carf mustang and the Carf Spit, Keeps wing loading down and sounds great PLs plenty or power. But is a big scale 31/32 inch prop is in order then You need the CC's
