I now have 3 flights on my Mamba 10 with 3 different 3s 50C lipos. One Venom and 2 eflite lipos. None of them will pull this plane out of a hover. The plane slowly tail slides when hovering currently. Can I have something setup wrong with the aurora 8 and my IX 12 transmitter? Other than the lacking power it flies amazing.

What size packs?

History/Age of batteries might also be relevant.

Are you propped right?

3s 2200mah at 50C is about the sweet spot. The mamba, more so than the extra, does benefit from going to 4s.

I had 30c 3s 2200s and mine would pull out of a hover but very slowly

Sadly yesterday was its last flight. It crashed nose in right after take off full speed. think the battery voltage dropped and caused a brown out maybe. Was flying borrowed battery

That's why they offer the 4s motor upgrade. It flies good on 3S, it flies great on 4S.

It flys great on a high discharge 2200 too. But the early ones need a esc upgrade to 50 amp as they are putting in the new ones. Mine caught fire in flight.

high c roaring top 3s 2200ma packs do great in the one my friend has. plenty of power. he also uses a xoar 12x4 prop.. much less noise than stock plastic prop

I've only flown 4s and it left me oogling over the airplane.

Would like to pick one up for myself, and when I do I am skipping right to 4s.

I saw one this past weekend running a 4s battery on stock motor/esc...very impressive.

The extra does ok on 3S but the Mamba really needs 4S

Since Flex was out of 4s motors, I used an EFlite 15 with 12/6E APC prop and 4s 50c Zippys and stock 50A esc and it has great pull out now. I learned 3S dissapointing and learned a big lesson: 50c on Lipos instead of 30 or 40 makes a big change in power on my 3,4, and 6 c batts.

What power system? Motor/ESC combo? Have you done an Amp check on the power system? Whats the aurora 8?

Here is mine with the recommended 4S motor from Flex, the MR propeller from Flex, CC 60 amp esc and a 3000 ma 60 c lipo. Long flight times.

Had the same thing on 3s until my friend highly recommend on 4s and fly so much more power and hover too. Lots of fun on 4s!
