H9 Beast... THOR!!!

This build will be documenting the recovering/rebuilding of a 100cc H9 Beast. The guy that owns the plane is a friend of mine and wanted to change this thing up and give it a new look.

After some conversation/permission from Jacob Hollander (owner of the full scale model 12 "Thor"), we've decided to recover the plane in the new "THOR" scheme.

I've already begun stripping to plane down and plan to start covering in the next 2 weeks. This build has an agreed deadline of March 15th so it will be completed on time

I hope you enjoy the rebuild/recover!

-Craig

Yep, that's exactly what I've heard about the plane... "good looking on the ground but hard to see in the air."

Brokenprops... I'll send you a PM with some details and my phone number. I'd be happy to talk about it if you'd like to visit about redoing your Beast. Call anytime.

Thanks Mr. Scary... it's far less organized than you can see in the picture!... haha.

Easy!

Go to Home Depot or Lowes and pick up some Strip-Eze furniture stripper. Take an old sponge and smooth on a layer of the stuff and wait 30 minutes. Wash off all the old paint and for some reason the stuff leaves the primer. Let it dry and you can re-prime or just light sand and re-paint. This Beast-turned-Thor ought to be really fine looking.

Thanks guys!...

Got a little more work done on the wings. The black is coming off cleaner than the red.

Ultracote is ordered!

Well I was going to keep mine quiet until I was done but now I can't hold back. Mine is the Beast 60E, already did the Beast 100cc in the Viking scheme 1-1/2 years ago.

This is how much I got done so far, this color scheme is a lot of work.
