A Monster Giant Scale ARF From Phoenix Model

The Phoenix Model Westland Lysander is available in two versions: a 74.8" and this huge 126" wingspan beast of an ARF! The Lysander is setup for either gas or electric power in the 50-60cc range or similarly rated electric motor, and swings a 22x8 to 26x10 prop. Eight standard-sized high-torque servos are required: 2 aileron; 2 flap; 2 elevator; 2 rudder; 1 throttle if using a gasoline engine.

The Westland Lysander is one of the biggest models in the Phoenix fleet, and has that unique multi-tapered wing that's sure to stand out at the field. The Lysander is selling for $599.99, and is currently in pre-order status at Tower Hobbies.

Hmmm Why wouldn't any of the 50cc size radials work in this bird?..

I think a 50cc size stearman is the way to go IMHO..

Saito makes a 3 cyl 60cc radial.As to whether or not it fits under the cowl,I have no idea. I have to admit,when the video came on and I heard the 2 stroke,that kinda made me turn it off. It just doesn't seem right.

The Saito 60R3 is 220mm (8.66") in diameter. Just need the cowl dimensions to see if it fits!

I have the 118" wingspan Seagull Lysander... Here is the Saito 60R3 mounted in mine. I would be very surprised if a 60R3 didn't fit in the Phoenix version.

Magnum used to make a 60cc radial at a pretty good price.
