New Airplane Seen at Nall in the Fall

Extreme Flight is hanging out at Nall in the Fall and flying the heck of their planes. They have a new release that hasn't even hit the website yet and we wanted to tell you about it. It's the new Laser 200 with two color schemes, one being based on Leo Loudenslager's full size plane and the other being more of a patriotic printed scheme.

It's made for a DA120 engine and can use stock mufflers or pipes if you like. The servo setup is 2 servos per wing, 1 for each elevator half and 1 or 2 for the rudder as you see fit. It's a beast and is fully aerobatic weighing in at around 27lbs all up. As far as flight characteristics go, the testers are saying it rolls slightly faster than the 104" Extra, but not quite as fast as the 105" Slick. It's going to feel a lot like the Extra in handling and habits. More details will be available soon.

Jase has a KILLER video of it at Hoverpalooza that gives you a glimpse of the flight envelope. I've been flying it here at Fall Nall and should get some mere mortal footage of it posted when I get back to WA state on Sunday.

In a nutshell it is badass and honestly think it hits a broader range of flyers as it is nimble and aggressive like the 580 and V2 Extra but capable of putting around at a crawl without falling out of the sky like it is filled with helium...

As much as I like that modern squared off Cap style cowl, I think it would be cool if they also offered a traditional round cheek version. The cowl shape was such a unique trademark to those original Laser 200's.

That was the same first impression I had was about the cowling.... the canopy does not look anywhere near correct either. Looks like it is a good flying plane though.

Agreed with what's been said. Although the plane looks really nice and I'm sure it flies fantastic, I too am the old purist when it comes to Leo's Laser 200. If this had the more traditional rounded cowl I would be all over this one as it is and was one of my all time favorite plane to watch back in the day.

Did I accidentally stumble on a warbird tread on RC groups ? Nope just the scale nuts found this tread. It's not supposed to be a scale plane guys. It's just a representation of a laser.
