It seems like there is way to much of material ...
See the photo below ...
Or the whole build ...

Cool build! Yes I aspire to the free flight school of design.

Redesigned the rear section for simplicity. Added a fin root fairing. I will 3D print this part. Actually I will probably process this part some more for the printer.

I want the louvers to be working. So they need to be designed in. I wont put all the louvers in this drawing just this representative set.

Got the wings on for a look at the complete design. The 10 % stretch has affected the look and I would like to move the wing and canopy forward on the fuselage for a more scale appearance. The drawing is getting a bit messy due to all the editing and changes so I might need to do a complete redraw.

Moved the wing forward and made a canopy in the sculpting environment. I need to do more on the internal structure now.

Working on the internal structure. This is taking a bit of time as I am making lots of changes as it develops.

Your project is coming along really well. I'm sure you will enjoy the build.

It reminds me of my Yak, 11 years ago.

Thanks Wayne, I had a look through your old thread. Found a pic of the full size which I didn't have, awesome. Interesting comments on the undercarriage. I have a plan to rubber mount mine. I always rubber mount them but it is more of a challenge with the tube legs. Carbon tube for them came in today, 16mm diameter with 2mm wall. Way overkill I think so I immediately ordered 15mm diameter by 1.5mm wall tubes.
Also interesting about the side thrust, looks like you reduced it to 1 degree there is also down thrust but not sure how much. I will probably only use 0.5 degrees side and down. I have been moving away from much engine offset as when inverted it becomes left thrust and up thrust.

Plugging away at the internal structure. I think I will need to alter the motor box for more room for the UC

Spent most of the morning working on the UC mount design. My concept is to run the legs through a rubber gland on the outside of the fuselage then rubber mount the top of the legs onto the internal structure. Have realized I need to run the legs to their apex and rubber mount them to a single point. More redesigning to do.

Pulled out my rubber mount collection and found something for the top of the UC legs. Created an inverted pyramid arrangement to attach it to. By a stroke of serendipity the 500mm legs are a perfect length.
