Just received the 24pro ,really like the way it feels in your hands, nice comfortable grips.
Charged it up over night and did my first plane set up today and it all went well for this computer stupid guy.Took about a hour to totally set it up with DR/EXP,end points and Smartfly throttle cut.I used the manual setting for all of set up,just to get use to how everything works. It would have taken a little less time using the Wizard setting,it just brings every screen you need up faster.
One thing that is different, the channels you use. Throttle is on ch.1,left ail is on 2, rt. on 5,elv.left on 3 and rt.elv.on 8,rudder.on 4.Not a big deal just something to re learn after 30 years of flying.Voice alerts on everything, but crash warning.
8 channel rx has 9 ports actually,I think the 9th port may be used for programming,I don't really know.I used it as one of the two power leads going into rx.
All and all I like it! Money well spent.
The real test will be when I set up the Chip Hyde Double Vision with two rt. and two left wing ail servos, all on different channels.

The rear port (marked with a "T") is for a telemetry module/ sensor. I've never tried using it for a battery input.

Does it power up the receiver if you use it as the lone power input?

Good question because,I never check that and it does power the rx with the other power lead pulled out. And it is the GR16L rx.

I see what people mean with the lite tension on the sticks. They are very smooth, not sure if the tension will be a problem, won't know till I fly it.If they are I can change the springs from a old Futaba 9c that I used in the past,I read that they are interchangeable.

Well I got almost all my planes switch over now to the 24 Pro.Maiden two planes, V1 Fusion DLE20 and a EF Edge,DA60.All went well with the new Graupner and new planes, sticks could use more spring tension but no problem flying, could be I just need to get use to them.Thats the only fault that I can find with the radio. The programming and setting up the planes is super easy, love the touch screen and the way switch assignment works. Stick imputes to control surfaces seem to be faster than what I'm use to (Hitec A9), but that could be just me. Now if it can just last for the rest of my flying days.Nice radio and would recommend it for the short time I had it.
